Trustee
Pro bono. Four board meetings a year and quarterly committee meetings
Borough Market is looking to appoint a small number of new Trustees to broaden the Board’s expertise and support its future development. The Board is particularly interested in candidates with skills in placemaking or in communications and marketing. It also welcomes broader experience, including legal, organisational development and human resources.
The Board is also keen to broaden its range of skills and perspectives, particularly through candidates with legal expertise, ideally in property law, or experience in human resources and organisational development. Candidates should bring sound judgement and a collaborative approach, with the ability to apply their expertise to Borough Market’s charitable and commercial context.
Candidates should have a strong connection to London, ideally to Southwark, and understand the communities the Market serves. Knowledge of food markets would also be desirable. Above all, candidates will share a genuine enthusiasm for Borough Market, its charitable purpose and its role in serving London’s communities.
Borough Market is partnering with Nurole, the leading board-level search specialist, to find Trustees. You can find out more and apply below. To arrange an informal conversation or in case of any other queries, please contact [email protected].

Our story
Our story began 1,000 years ago, when a market took shape at the foot of London Bridge. Since 1756, we’ve been in our current location, run by a charitable trust on behalf of the community. Today, our mission is to show that food can be made and sold in ways that are better for people, for the planet and for the sheer pleasure of eating.
